With my songwriting partner Tom Dahl, my Big Band Jump Me Martha produced and performed original tunes in the style of the 1940s...blues, jazz, pop and Latin styles from that era are all evident on our second album, Go Fat Daddy.

The songs have won awards (John Lennon, American Songwriting Competition, etc.) and have been used in film (Intimate Stranger, licensed by the Lifetime Channel in US, Canada & Europe), live theatre, and been licensed by other artists to record (Chantal Chamberland, Canada).

The music works great for visual media related to swing dancing, the 1940s, the Big Band era, jump and jive, history of the 1940s, war films, etc. I could see our tunes having been used in the GAP commercials a few years ago featuring children in GAP clothes swing dancing to music from the '40s, for example.

I think we have a treasure trove of great tunes that could be mined by music supervisors requiring these kinds of topics. The best compliment we ever got was after playing a set at a summer festival (where all the tunes had been our originals), an elderly couple came up to us side-stage and said, "Thank you so much for the beautiful music. It was so wonderful to hear all those great old songs again!" :)
